In this intimate consultation group, you will have the opportunity to gain skills, broaden your knowledge base, and deepen your clinical work with couples.
Utilizing the leading evidence-based/state-dependent models in the field of couples therapy today, NCCT Couples Therapist and Intake Coordinator, Rachel Stein will customize each session to meet the needs of the group based on current cases and overall wishes for learning.
Subspecialties within the field of couples therapy to be explored include:
Rachel Stein has been working with couples, families, and adults for over 15 years, and is a graduate of the University of Southern CA where she received her Masters in Clinical Social Work, and from Smith College where she earned a BA in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience. A core member of the NCCT Couples Therapy team since 2013, Rachel is also our Intake Coordinator.
In addition to advanced training in both Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Rachel has extensive training and experience in working with parents on challenging issues and has specialized training in postpartum mood disorders. She is also fluent in Spanish and experienced at working with families who are bi-cultural.
An Adjunct Professor in the Masters of Social Work programs at Smith College where she teaches Couples Therapy, and at UConn where she teaches Social Work, Rachel is both a gifted teacher and clinician.
Beginning in September, we will meet once a month on Tuesdays from 12:30-2p. Fee $75 per meeting, sliding scale available.
