Beth Agostino-Evans, MSW, LICSW
She/her
Clinical Supervisor
“I’m drawn to sessions where the emotions are running so high. In my life, I like calm, but in my work I’m drawn to the painful edge where the energy is in the room and we have a chance to change things. I notice that when my families are discussing divorce, especially if they have children, I feel especially passionate about being there and supporting that process.”
When it comes to working with people in pain, Beth is a natural. From her earliest years, she was drawn to pursue two goals: to begin a family with adopted children, and to dedicate herself to working with people in crisis. Her career has specialized on family work with challenges around chronic illness, death and dying, foster care and adoption, and GLBTQ issues. Beth is committed to helping families of all types find a way forward, combining empathic emotional support with helping on the practical nuts and bolts of a workable parenting plan.
Ask me about: My love for the ocean and my appreciation for the simple things in life.
Ever since I was young, I’ve been: Passionate about helping to empower others; specifically the people who have faced multiple injustices and hurts.
Favorite quote: “Wherever you are, be there totally. If you find your here and now intolerable and it makes you unhappy, you have three options: remove yourself from the situation, change it, or accept it totally.” — Eckhart Tolle
Favorite kind of couples: I love the couples that are willing to step out of their comfort zones; for this is where the real work takes place. The couples who are willing to put it all out there and be open to the idea that the truth lies somewhere in between them.
