“If you want your partner to treat you well, you need to learn to think and act like people who almost always get treated well by their partners – and you certainly don’t want to think and act like people who hardly ever get treated well.”
What is the PEX Method?
The PEX Method for Improving Relationships is a research-based, psycho-educational model designed to help partners rewire their brains and, in turn, any relational habits that might have proven ineffective. Rooted in the research of John Gottman and neuroscience, the PEX method offers you step-by-step concrete tools that once mastered, are highly predictive of relationship success.
Based on principles developed by Dr. Brent J. Atkinson, author of Emotional Intelligence in Couples Therapy: Advances in Neurobiology and the Science of Intimate Relationships, the PEX Method helps us wield own brain power in a way that elicits desired responses from one another. In essence, it teaches you and your partner to treat one another exactly how you want to be treated.
Not only does our team embrace the science and research behind this method, but every one of our therapists has also been trained personally by Brent Atkinson in the PEX methodology.
